Partnerships

Harlem RBI strives to ensure the East Harlem community has the best possible opportunities. That is why we partner with local youth and social service providers to ensure out youth and families have a strong network of support to help them reach their goals.

Harlem RBI has formal partnerships with:

  • The East Harlem Human Services Consortium, where neighboring agencies keep each other abreast of best practices and new initiatives for East Harlem children and families.
  • The Center for Food and the Environment at Teachers College, Columbia University, which provides Harlem RBI's REAL Kids Program with nutrition educators who use inquiry-based science and hands-on activities to teach youth the basic components of healthy eating
  • Junior High School 99 Campus of Schools, Public School 38, and Mosaic Preparatory Academy in East Harlem, where classroom and gymnasium facilities are utilized year-round for Harlem RBI and DREAM programs.
  • The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (AHC), which provides comprehensive medical, mental health and sexual health care for Harlem RBI participants as needed.  AHC also provides annual physical exams for all Harlem RBI teenage youth.
  • College Access Consortium of New York provides a variety of professional development, networking, and outreach opportunities to both the Director of Programs and Legends Program Coordinator to help them link students to college and career planning information and resources.
  • SUNY-Old Westbury, which provides Harlem RBI seniors with an in-depth introduction to both the academic and residential components of college life through rowkshops led by university professors and a five-day campus retreat.
  • Museum of the City of New York, where Harlem RBI's REAL Kids Program participants engage in the Planning Urban Places and Spaces Program, which uses the East Harlem neighborhood to introduce students to fundamental concepts of urban planning and design.
  • AmeriCorps, which provides Harlem RBI with 102 full-time, part-time and summer Members each year to serve as Coaching Fellows in our REAL Kids, TeamBuilders and TeamWorks programs. AmeriCorps is a national service program funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service designed to facilitate and encourage community service in the United States. The AmeriCorps Member's term of service allows them to build their work experience as they address the educational and fitness needs of our youth.

Harlem RBI gives youth the opportunity to succeed.
See what they can do with a chance.
